Our Hope and Goal
![]() |
Paul Maurice Martin is the real thing. Fourteen years of experience, reflection, and work had already gone into the manuscript for Original Faith: What Your Life Is Trying to Tell You, when Paul was hit in the prime of life by a devastating progressive illness. For most of the next decade he was forced to set the manuscript aside through years of medical travel, HMO struggles, misdiagnosis, and continued full-time employment as an elementary school counselor. |
After becoming too disabled for work outside the home, Paul returned to his manuscript and completed it. During this time, he became too fragile for safe transport outside his home. This makes it impossible for him to seek the kind of public visibility that might create a marketing platform.
Paul has two Masters degrees in fields directly related to his writing: one in religious studies from the University of Chicago and another in counseling from the University of New Hampshire. He has completed two additional book manuscripts and is half way through a third. Original Faith has received solid endorsements, including those from Professor Emerita Anne Carr of the University of Chicago Divinity School and Melanie Rigney, former Editor of Writer's Digest.
Paul has severe physical limitations. Our hope, goal, and challenge is to sell several thousand copies of the book in its first year of publication under the Lucid Interface logo. This could be enough to convince a trade publisher of profitability and give the book a chance to find the larger readership it deserves.
